Rockcliffe University Consortium is a non-profit public benefit corporation and is not organized for the private gain of any person. It is organize under the Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation Law within the state of California for public purposes. The specific purpose of this corporation is to provide collaboration, integration, and educational services to other universities, non-profits, and research organizations seeking to develop expertise in virtual organizational design and leadership

The Rockcliffe Reference Library is a collection of reference and open educational resources for teachers and students interested in cirriculum development within virtual environments such as Second Life, OpenSimulator and others.
