As an Applied Linguist (ELT Educator, Assessor) for all age-groups and exam-oriented classes, my presentation highlights practical T.O.T.A.L.L.E.R.-based suggestions for activities, character design and prompt engineering using adaptive AI Companions in Virtual Reality and Virtual Worlds. Aligning with research on AI's transformative potential, these Humanised AI Companions offer immersive sophistication, personalised support and exploratory learning, enhancing task performance and engagement. Effective integration requires realistic interaction, tangible curricula and targeted teacher training. Join me to explore how AI unlocks new potential for English Language Teaching and Learning in VR/VW spaces.
