VWBPE 2025 Spotlight
Presented: April 04, 2025
Speaker: Brian Aviator (Brian K. Perry, Virtual Museums)
Categories: Best Practices
This presentation will provide a walkthrough of the process used to design, develop, and implement a set of interactive exhibits and informational displays that operate in multiple virtual worlds. The architecture is designed to work across disparate heterogeneous virtual platforms and enables educational practitioners and museum curators to deploy new content or manage existing content across worlds with minimal effort. The presentation will explore the design challenges and solutions for creating exhibits that function across multiple modalities including viewers/browsers, virtual reality headsets, and mobile devices while maintaining a consistent and accessible user experience. Case studies will demonstrate the implementation of a cross-world museum exhibit display system and virtual museum docents powered by artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) tools.
Objective:
Participants will learn to implement educational experiences for multiple virtual worlds/modalities.
