Humanity in the Era of Virtual Connection

VWBPE 2021 Presentation
Presented: March 18, 2021
"Speaker: Kristy Handrick (SL)

2020 was not an easy year. I suffered from depression since the beginning of the year. My Second Life best friend ended her life due to depression right before the Covid. During Covid, I hesitated to promote virtual worlds to other educators because I know how difficult it might be for them to just survive. In this year, what I have found is the importance of humanities during the era of virtual connection. With the warmth of humanities, virtual worlds are places for residents to thrive.

  • Participants will be able to rethink the relationship between human and technology
  • Participants will be able to consider the importance of humanity in this time
