Building in FrameVR: Creating Browser-Based Immersive Learning Experiences

Browser-based virtual worlds, easy to enter using a simple web link and intuitive to navigate, have been rapidly evolving to offer exciting and surprisingly full-featured immersive educational opportunities for learners of all ages. Whether you are an experienced builder in virtual worlds or new to the practice of integrating virtual worlds in education, this hands-on building session in FrameVR has something to offer. 30-minute assisted building opportunity followed by sharing and discussion.

  • Participants will be able to experience how easy it is to build learning experiences in FrameVR.
  • Participants will be able to import both 2D and 3D objects, adjusting position and size.

Directions: No download required. Headset with microphone suggested. To access this virtual experience, go to https://framevr.io/evoframevr. When prompted, simply enter a name of your choice if you wish to participate as a guest. If you would like to sign in to Frame, click the multicolored menu button in the upper right of the screen at https://framevr.io/evoframevr. Sign in by setting up a free FrameVR account or by using an existing Google, Microsoft, Facebook, or ImmersLogin username and password.

(1) WEB BROWSER – If on PC, Chromebook, or Android, use the latest Google Chrome. – If on MAC, iPhone, or iPad, use the latest version of Safari – If using a VR headset, use Firefox for Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, or Valve Index. Use the Oculus Browser for the Oculus Quest.

(2) INTERNET CONNECTION Frame requires a broadband wired or wireless connection with a minimum bandwidth of 1 MBPS (up/down). 3 MBPS (up/down) is recommended. The more people in the shared Frame, the better connectivity is required for a smooth experience.

(3) OPERATING SYSTEM – If on MAC, iPhone, or iPad, OSX or iOS/iPadOS 13+ – If on Android, Android 8 or later – If on PC, Windows 7 or above
