As we spend increasing amounts of time in online worlds, it helps to recognize that our experiences there can vary quite drastically from one platform to another. In this presentation, I will examine a range of platforms, asking questions about how we build, navigate, and interpret virtual space—and how those spaces in turn can affect our understanding of ourselves and the people around us.
