VWBPE 2023 Immersive Experience

Prepare yourself for an unforgettable adventure in the great outdoors by grabbing your hiking boots, swimming trunks, and some companions. Leave behind the worries of daily life and immerse yourself in the wonder of the Canadian wilderness re-created by NProwler in six worlds in VRChat. Discover your ideal sanctuary to unwind and bask in the breathtaking natural surroundings, capturing stunning snapshots along the way. Unwind at a cozy campsite with a warm fire, perfect for a peaceful night under the stars. Our tour guide will be NProwler himself, who will talk about his passion, motivation and vision for creating these vast worlds, as well as his experiences creating these worlds on the Unity platform that underpins the VRChat platform.
If we have time and there is the interest, we can also world hop to some other stunning VRChat worlds that could potentially blow your mind.
Technical requirements
While the ideal way to experience the worlds of VRChat is through a PC-tethered headset, participants can also access the platform on a flat screen via a Windows PC.
VRChat account
Participants will need to set up a VRChat account (https://hello.vrchat.com/), which like Second Life is free.
Once you have created your VR Chat account, please provide the following information:
Creating an Avatar
All first-time visitors to VRChat will automatically receive a standard VRC avatar, and there are plenty of free avatars to be found in VRC. However, if you want a nicer-looking free avatar that you can customise yourself on your cell phone and then automatically upload to VRC where it will be ready and waiting for you to use, you can't go past Ready Player Me (https://readyplayer.me/). You can even take a photo of yourself on your phone and have your likeness added to your avatar. Once you've finished customisation just select VRChat, input your account details, then hit the button and upload your avatar to your VRC account.

Meeting up in VRChat
- After you log into VRChat you will need to join our group which is called “Virtual Worlds Best Practices in Education”
- The group ID is VWBPE.8644.
- To join the group you will need to open the VRChat main menu while inworld. To open the main menu press Esc on your keyboard if in desktop mode or click the Y or B button on your VR headset controller:
